i was looking into gettin a new computer but i dont know what to get a mac or pc this computer would be used for programs like ps,3d max, maya and so on programs that i guess take a lot of the computer resources.

currently i have a P4 1.5ghz / 256mb ram / 150Gb in hd space / and AMD 1700+ / 256mb ram / 50Gb in hd space / or should i just do a upgrade on one of these pcs?

If you use Max and Maya unlimited?,then you will need a PC,Max is not catered for on the Mac and thus far Maya unllimited is not either, but complete is. :)

I agree with adding more ram, but i'd also suggest a CPU upgrade. That AMD 1700+ for instance. With Athlon's new line of CPUs coming out now you can get a 3000+ or better for very cheap.

Check some online stores too for deals. ;)

Acidz, when you want to upgrade the CPU, check your motherboard first; you might need a newer motherboard to get the most out of it or to be compatible.

Both. There should be an option for that.

PCs are more 'compatible' and cost less

MACs Almost never crash. And they're efficient.
