Hello :D,

I was hoping someone might be able to point me in the direction of how to create the menu image backgrounds be it a tutorial or maybe some friendly advice. I am hoping to use the brighter bluish color from the bottom bar in the top one for a website I am working on in class.

Thank you very much for the help

You could do this using a texture, an image of stone, marble, etc., and change the hues any number of ways. Use a hue/sat layer adjustment, check colorize. Add a color layer over it, desaturate the texture or not - experiment. With the color layer, try different blend modes: color obviously, soft light, overlay, hard light (usually need to decrease opacity to get a good effect), and so on. Different blend modes work according to the color below them. So, eg, set a red layer over white and use overlay and it disappears. You may want to use a gradient for the color.

As usual, multiple ways to accomplish most effects in PS, so you may get more and different ideas.
