Looking for Filter / Effect

Hi there

I'm looking for a certain effect that can be applied to photos,
to create that cold/metalic/mtv-like look... you can see it often on video clips running on MTV...
it looks like they applied some cooling filteration, but using the PS regular photo-filters i couldnt get close to that effect.

I never watch MTV, so I don't know exactly what you're looking for (I can only guess). Do you have an example?

Thanks guys. I'm looking for a Pic to show you what i mean, you can also see it in the movies sometimes.
it's kind of "cold"... but still it has red color etc...

Sorry, can't help you Ron, because without an example I really don't know what you need. Hopefully someone else understands which effect you're looking for.

ok guys, you know how it goes that when you're looking hard for something you can't find it !
so anyway i used some customized curves and Hue&Sat layers to get the following example which is roughly what i'm looking for.
as you can see it all gets very cold, but you still see reds. if anyone has a good tip of doing it better -shoot
(or a ready made plugin available for photoshop)

Basically, I used 'selective color' to tweak the hue somewhat to what you came up with in the modified photo. Then, I copied that layer, desaturated it and set to overlay.

You could try applying a red photo filter as well... there are many possibilities. Would be nice if you could show a better example.

A couple of shots in the dark..
Top one is the cool filter..basically a blue layer at 25%
Second is the defused glow filter (white set as background color)
