hello everyone,
i am a beginner, and since i would try to sell photos, i need to know requirements to made them.
i would ask about:
-type of camera
-minimum resolution
-noise
-subjects

-i have this camera:imaging-resource.com/PRODS/A2/A2A.HTM

-my max resolution is: 8 megapixel

-i have problem with noise(what's an acceptable size for noise?)

-can you give me few advices about subjects? (white background, focus...)

For example, i made some photos of the same subject with different settings to see the difference, noise it's always present but in raw photos is monochromatic i think, here the link gallery:

is there a way to edit my thread?

define "selling"
if you plan on doing portraits for clients you will ABSOLUTELY need a better camera.

but if you just mean selling prints as "fine art" then you can use whatever camera you want, as long as you can take photos that people like.

that's a pretty old camera. at the time it was made it wasn't that great of a camera. that was 2003, since then cameras have come a very long way. so, you could probably do better with a modern point and shoot.

if you want to be a photographer you will probably want to start with a modern entry level dslr

since that brand doesn't make cameras any more, i recommend either canon or nikon. there are other brands but these 2 are the most popular, and most refined.

when picking a camera, i usually tell people to pick a max price, find a camera body for $400-$500 less than that, then go to a camera store and hold every camera body within that price range in your hand, and decide which one feels best.

now with the $500 extra buy a cheap lens with good optical quality (not a kit lens)

if you choose a crop sensor camera, i don't recommend a 50mm. it is a great lens, for a full frame camera. but on a crop sensor it is an awkward focal length to shoot at. instead look into a 35mm lens. it will still be pretty sharp and cheap, but will be closer to a 50mm focal length on a crop sensor.

thanks for response but i can't see such botton, maybe cause i'm a newbe, now i read at the bottom of the page (in posting permissions) that i can't edit my posts :P

fine art? I take it as a compliment :P i made this egg for fun using Keith Haring style, do you think i can sell it? i will try ;)
no. no, i would like to sell photos and i think that i need a better camera as you said, thanks for informations, i was unaware about the crop factor.

i dont think he was referring to the egg a good photo can be sold as fine art.
you said you want to sell photos you havent really explained what photos your selling.
photos as art, weddings/event service etc...?

people are not going to buy photos of random object unless you have something unique that not everyone could do

ok, I misunderstood, i have to make more practise with english...
i'm referring to sell photos in stock sites then subjects are various, i don't have a particular idea.

To be a good Photographer camera is now main Problem. You can take nice and Awesome photo by a lower classes Camera.
You have think about the shot before taking photo. You can take any kind of photo but first think about it then make shot.
A simple photo can be famous if you take care of it.
However, You can go for Nikon D70, D5000, those are nice.
