Hello there.
i am about to start creating a logo for a company, which has to be very professional. I was just wondering what would be the best settings to use? ie. what resolution and canvas size, and also what format to save the logo to (jpeg, png, etc.)

Any advice for this task would be great.

Thank you

Is the logo for print or screen ?

Anyway if it's for print, the optimal resolution is 300dpi, and a good file format to save as, is png, and also keep your backup if using layers as a psd. As for canvas size, i'd say larger the better, because you can always downsize smoothly, but never upsize smoothly. Hope this helps

i try to keep them at 300dpi as well. as far as format i would say it should be based largely on what it will be used for. the vinyl company i use likes it in a different format than where i send logos for t shirts and such
