Hello,Is there a way to overwrite existing text on an image with new text, in a new font? I'm developing a logo for a freelance journalist who would like his business name written on the pen image that is attached (I do have another question about this particular logo, but that can be saved for another post :) ). What I am seeing does not appear to have been done with live text. It appears to me to simply be part of the artwork . If you have the Photoshop file and have the layers intact, you most certainly would have an editable text layer but I doubt that is what this is. In this case, you would need to use the PS tools, such as the clone tool to eradicate the "text" and then replace it with the handwriting you want. You would need to have the person write what you want in his hand, scan it, then place it on a new layer and place it where you want it to be. Some further manipulation would be required to achieve the desired look. This not a one or two button operation.

The Clone Tool was very helpful, it removed the text wonderfully! Now I need to add text or an image of my client's logo to the pen image. What is the best way to layer these two images? The logo needs to be angled so it is in line with the text as well. I could also write text directly over the pen image if necessary. Just put it on a new layer and you can then rotate it to your satisfaction. Use Free Transform (Ctrl T in Windows).

I would also suggest adding some filters to make the text a little more "noisy" which would make the text look more like it has always been there
