Logo Design Idea

I need someones help. I'm trying to design/vision an idea to build a logo for a company. I have two letters and I want the effect of a spear going through it taking part of the letters with it. Im really stumped and have no idea how to do this. Any tips would be much appreciated

Develop the letters using 3D, overlay spear, quick mask out what should be "inside" the letters, use puppet warp to move the insertion point of the spear on the letter so it looks indented at insertion and opposite at exit point, mask out the chunk that will be on the tip of the spear.
Add a second layer of your letters and reverse mask the chunk on the spear tip and move it to the end of the spear. Might want to add crumbles of falling debris depending upon what you feel the letters are made of...cookies, paper, metal...
