is there a way to locate a Photoshop file on windows 7, based on jpeg that exported from that Photoshop file?

I got a file I can't find, and I know also what files were embedded in it

Do you have Bridge with your version of PS? Bridge shows a thumbnail of the file and the data. You can also go to Start and in the box that says search Programs and Files, enter the name of the file with (or without) the extension. If you don't know it, enter *.psd and it will find all of the PS files on your system.

If it was the last thing you did in PS then go to export it again....it'll default to the same folder, note it down and cancel export.
If not then yeah, what ALB68 said.

Instead of 'Windows search' I use Mythicsoft's free 'Agent Ransack / Filelocator Lite' to locate files, you can even even search for text within files!
The Mythicsoft site was down just now but you can find it here on Major Geeks.

Regards.
