I'm going to be blunt: from a photographic or promotional POV, the picture is horrible. IMHO, the cell phone on your leg is the least of your worries. I doubt anyone would even notice it but you.
In addition to the cell phone, there is:
1)severe underexposure of the subjects and foreground;
2)severe overexposure of the outside world; there is also,
3)motion blur of the subject;
4)the camera was tilted;
5)horrible composition (ie, incredible visual clutter from all the cables, electronics, speaker cabs, useless visual info coming in through the windows, etc.); and finally,
6)the image you posted is way too small (ie, too few pixels) and full of noise and JPG compression artifacts to, IMHO, ever be put out for advertising, social media, etc. even if it is called, "a candid".
The next time, get someone who knows what they are doing to take a better shot. With even a half-way decent photographer, it won't take a second more time to shoot than this one did, but it will portray you to the world in a much better light.
That being said, here's a quick 2 minute touch-up job with about 10% of that time devoted to your cell phone.
Sorry to have to be so blunt.

PS - The photographer should start by using a real flash (ie, not the "flash" in a cell phone camera) pointed at the ceiling or towards the wall in back of him.
