little help needed with paint bucket

Hello, I am new to photoshop and this site. I am currently learning how to add text to photos, and i have this small problem: when i add a text bubble, and paint the bubble white using paint bucket tool, the whole bubble teun white including the text (black text).
 
how are you making the bubble. if your using a custom shape you can just choose the fill colour option
 
Just figured it out. The problem was with layers order, it was text bubbles> text> photo, i changed layer order to text>bubbles>photo and it is working now.
 
Excellant..I was just going to suggest that but you figured it out on your own, I bet you learned a valuable lesson and I doubt you will make that mistake again.
