Lines in Photoshop CS6 Extended?

When I make a line in Photoshop, there are these little perpendicular lines run along the original line, kind of like this:
l l l l l l l
--------
l l l l l l l
Only the perpendicular lines cross the original line. I thought maybe it just looks like that in the program and it wouldn't show up when I print, but it does. How can I get rid of this?

It does it with all shapes. Any ideas?
