I have all these family photos to put up on my website and when I saw the expression on my niece Lila's face, I couldn't resist doing something with it.

Looks very good, if you are going for a more realistic look I would recommend removing some color from the eyes and lips .

desaturate your colors and add a tad more shadows.

lol, thanks. I increased the saturation overall on the second try. Or do you mean just on the face?

What I am having trouble with actually is adding that sparkle to make the face compare to the glint on the bronze statues. I guess I could go with more white overlay. Any ideas?

Just on the face. Unless you wanted to maintain your lipstick and blue eyes... lol... which I feel you want to. In which case you can take a duplicate of the color and play with the modes to blend it on top of the desaturated layer copy.
