Hello all 
I would like to do learn the following:
1.) How do I create brushes/effects like in this image? It looks like some sort of electrical mist, and it fascinates me. How do you guys do it?

2.) If anyone has watched Matrix Revolutions, you probably recognize these images. I would love to learn how to create particle effects like in these images. The strings, strokes and those golden orbs. How to do them?
For how the particle looks like more in detail, here's a video. This Neo vision intrigues me, and I would love to learn to make those particle patterns:
