Okay, so, the last time I tried this, I received a lecture about how the project was not realistic or accurate in present day science circles. So, after conducting some research, I went back to the drawing board to some degree. What you will see below is a redo of the previous project, but with more accuracy. I am not going for realism, because I wanted the piece to have that air of "Crotalism" that you just cannot find anywhere else.

I hope I got it somewhat close enough to accurate this time. Please enjoy the full view. Or not.

I love it, Crotale!

I especially like the gas jet, the more irregular debris field, better size scaling, etc.

The only thing I might comment on is that the comet / asteroid and it's associated debris field seem too "cheerful" (ie, not sufficiently menacing). In reality, I think that the surface reflectivity of such smaller bodies is usually quite low compared to larger bodies such as planets and moons, so I would brighten the moon / planet and darken the foreground objects, but that's just me.

Most of the assteroids I see at work are never cheerful.
