Im following a tutorial and it's telling me to create a new layer under an image then fill the section with a color.

How on earth do i create a layer under anything for that matter?
Anyone?

If image is in layer named "Background" you have to convert it to layer first.
Double click on "Background" layer in Layer panel (F7).
It will bring dialog box, just press OK. Now you have your image as layer.
And now holding CTRL click on that:
newlayer.jpg

Done.

Hi aaronjunited

Think of layers as a stack of pancakes:

You got the Top side, the medium, and the bottom sides.

Or, if you may, The part on top, medium and under, so when they will tell you to create a layer on top,"above" or on the bottom "under", you will know where to place it.

Also as
SeniorS mentioned before, to create a layer under or on the bottom of your selected layer hold the CRTL key or CMMND "MAC", other ways by default the layers will be created on top of your currently selected layer.

LoL...pancakes...very good analogy, i like it.
And you can make pancake's cake. On bottom pancake put jam and next pancake then marmalade etc...smooth comparison 1r_M4x1mu$.

Yeah...me too man!

Damn it, now i want pancakes but it's too late and i'm on a kinda diet :banghead:

P.S. I can even feel taste of them, how they melt....arghhh
