Knockout and Noise Ninja ?

There is no trial or demo for Knockout and Noise Ninja was as easy to find as the tip of my nose. :P
Just type in Google: Noise Ninja

Knockout is a masking tool. Because it uses complex algorithms to mask objects, KnockOut 2 lets users mask detailed objects, such as hair, smoke, water, glass and shadows. I find it easier to use for creating very complex or transparent masks than Photoshop's native tools.

Noise Ninja is reputed to be the best option for removing noise and grain from digital photographs and scanned film images. I haven't yet heard a comparison between the new Noise filter in PS CS2 and Noise Ninja by someone who is adept at using both... I'm awaiting that review with interest.

So, here ya go wells. I havn't tried out Noise Ninja yet, but I took evil's example and de-noised it on CS2.
I tried two diffent settings here:
The top setting gets kinda bulrry, so usually I use the smart sharpen filter afterwards, but I left it as is.

Hah! Interesting results, Evil Nemesis and p?tr??k. Thanks for posting those. I think I'm going to give it a go...(now that I have CS2 installed). ;)

I alos installed cs 2 today, :D But have losted some styles and brushes, no worries I'll creat them again , I've also buyed Flamingpearl flood :D

OK, I took Evil Nemesis' image and ran the noise filter on CS2. However, I used it as if this were a real project. I selected the person's image which didn't need the same treatment as the background with the colored noise and ran the PS CS2 noise filter three times. Then I did one pass on the head with the noise filter at significantly different settings. It was all done in the one filter, though.

Knockout is great for smoke and hair...

maybe even a bottle or two it can not be beat... but its very expensive. I would try to learn the blend if layer stuff and extract tool before. Extract tool is very under rated..it can be used with some really nice results, specially if combined with blend if layers.
but to extract a person or item from a picture, mask and pen tool will beat them all. Slow hard work but perfect.

Mostly, Red Rooster, we were just experimenting with noise filters to see results, rather than trying for a specific result. Your's looks good, though. Did you select the noise field and fill it with black? ;)

I did this in a few clicks using dust and scratches filter in the noise menu :B (missed a little noise at the top ;\ )

@ Lee : I have Knockout 2.0 Plugin for photoshop now, do you have plugin or seperate software ? and how to use it ?
