It's basically text split into two. The top half becomes part of the blade, & the bottom half is blood.

I like this piece just the way it is! Then I read the post and your intent with the effect.
For me, the desired illusion of the top half of the text becoming part of the blade does not work. Kind of looks more like snow or ice covered text sitting in front of the blade. Also, there are parts of the letters still there that would not be there if they were cut from the blade, it would look more like this.....
As I said though, I really like it the way it is! I would not have become critical unless I read your intent! Sorry!
