Providing mothero agrees, i'm going to be joining up with the Air cadets, i need more discipline and i need to get out more.

Thanks to Mr Hoogle for raising the point. one of my friends interested me further as she is also in the cadets. so! i think i'm in.

you'll probably see some photos and whatnot up on here provided all goes well and i get my camera back :P

had my first Cadet meeting today, everyone was really friendly but i knew it's going to get hard over the coming weeks, i've got to wait 6 weeks to get my Uniform assigned it's just so they know i am staying before they do anything with me, and i have to buy my greens, but i get to keep them :)

but yeah, made friends on the first evening, but the people i am currently with (the late joiners) are so chatty! yeah, you probably wouldn't believe that i was the quiet one. they all jumped when i spoke, it was quite hilarious.

Sorry for my question but what are the air cadets?

i've had to take an extract from their site as it's hard for me to explain:

"The ATC is community-based and open to anyone aged between 13 and 20 years who is eligible (read full details in our section on joining the cadets). Organised into more than 900 squadrons around the country, we’re probably closer than you think. Find your nearest squadron here

Amongst the many adventurous training opportunities on offer, we are the largest operator of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme - that's not so surprising when you learn that HRH The Duke of Edinburgh is the ATC's Air Commodore-in-Chief, taking a keen interest in seeing all our members fulfil their potential.

The ATC motto is 'Venture - Adventure' and our cadets know that it's more than just words - it's an attitude that helps you stand out from the crowd."

does that explain it okay?

well damn, I don't think there is an air cadet club in my region :p. Being in Belgium sucks but it seems awesome :) (I've visited the site)

Sounds great what I see on the web, R.A.F. has huge WW II tradition, congratulations and the best wishes to you, please keep us posted.
