Ok... I"m better now[Giggle]..... Paul, The Image I see onscreen is a head that is larger than a photograph, so I"m wondering is this the result of upsample/downsample,
to compensate for the 72ppi of my monitor?....... The body seems to have less focus, Was it clear when you started, degraded by a scanner?, A compounded issue?

You have a bit of halo around the dog head.
Try masking the head, and then take the smudge tool, and smudge your mask invard to get that hair effect.

Of course, unless you wanted that halo.

A channel mask would be quite effective also.... In regards to the halo.
