Jagged Text

I'm having a bit of a problem with having smooth text. This is running on 300dpi at 100% but it seems it won't get smooth enough. I really want to mask it with pictures but it would make the jagged letters even more noticeable. Am I doing something wrong?

go to
mask edge
and bring both the smooth and contrast sliders up

Does this only apply to CS5? I only have CS4. D:

im pretty sure you can still do it in cs4

right click the layer mask, and hit mask edge

go to preferences under type and rulers change the type to pixels that way it should be smooth as it is relevant to your document.

However remember that pixels are not point size so if you need specific size text you have to remember to switch this back.

also in the text tool settings set it to crisp or smooth different fonts act differently so whichever works best.
