I'm so mad i've completly lost it.. OK i know you think i've lost it anyway so whats the loss... But i've lost me PSD on a first manipulation i did....

I spent 2 days doing it.. I know nothing when it comes to doing manipulations and i did all the lighting and drawing by hand , I used at least 6 photo's for it and for my first time thought "Great" i've managed to do one..

To be honset it didn't realy look that great and can see mistakes in it, i was trying to get the feel of blending and lighting so there was quite a lot in it,, Now i cant see as my lights have gone out after banging me head so much on the desk table :banghead:, and i'm now belending in to the carpet on the floor...

SO MAD..SO...MAD WITH MESELF. I know i saved it but can't find where...if i manage to find it i'l post it,not that any ones botherd its rubbish realy..

sorry to hear that if there's something i've been working on for a while and i need to keep it somewhere where i can fetch it quick, i usually save it onto my desktop, that way it's just a button click away. might help you out. not sure though.

Out of interest, the way you 'speak' as such it's almost like you are from the north west of England? liverpool maybe?

You know what inkpad? We're all sorry and especially because most of us know what it feels like. I know I do. I've lost more than one. Don't think I ever lost one with that much time invested, ouch ouch ouch.

You've searched your trash and your hard drive of course? I had a problem just the other day where I didn't save numerous stages and PS froze. I wrote down what I did with every layer and all that I could remember that didn't show. Turns out I had automatically saved a lot more than I thought. I'm paranoid about losing work.

I don't know what to tell you about your process; just that you need to come up with your own "foolproof" solution. Funny word, isn't it? foolproof!

I hope you find it.

In the meantime, get up off the floor and go stick your head under a running faucet. Then go eat a pint of really fattening ice cream. Sit down and watch a mindless comedy. Finally, turn on some really loud music and imitate a whirling dervish. That's the best advice I have . . .

To Zeealex. Not far out there ... try again..

to inkz and Ibclare... thank you... Normaly i save every stage i do then when i'm finnished for the day i store it on an external drive so as not to clog up the pc. I can only think i've stored it on the pc some where so will have to search for it as you said..

"Oh YEH" Thanks Ibclare, i did save a jpeg image of it... i will post that.. please bare in mind though i have no real stock images and some are of poor quality which dos affect the final image..

I was just trying to practice and get belending and colouring, don't think i managed it though and now can't go back and do more.

..

Now that sounds like a good idea..

But now i'm realy getting worried.. first you could see inside my head, now you can see i'm fat and love ice cream...The loud music might be a problem.. the last time i did that i was little bit drunk.. i went home and put the head phones on and turn it up.. fell asleep only to be woken by loud bangs on the window by the neighbours wanting my blood as i had pluged the headphones in the wrong socket, half the street was listening to head banging music for 4 hrs.. The choice of words was not for repeating..

So thank you guys and i'l post that thing i did...

Just think of it this way:

You spent two days, learning by trial and error and many manipulations take longer than that, so don't despair, just brace yourself! Good schooling.

You'll post and get some great advice (you might not want to hear).

You admit some of the photos weren't good quality and you weren't happy with your results. Time to let go and move on is what I say. There comes a time when you decide you're going to keep looking until you find quality stocks or other photos or pictures. That way the time you spend feels really justified; not to mention that you can always utilize those stocks in another manip. If you get stumped on lighting or color balance, etc., you can post a psd and ask for some guidance.

So, all is not lost. One step along the path of discovery. Like I said, we've all been there (and those who say they haven't? 98% chance they're stretching the truth  ).

Thank you so much... I really don't mind getting slated over something....i see all comments good or bad as a way forward...even helps to get things done quicker... i would rather get HONEST comments good or bad so i can learn quicker...

Once again thank you.
