Hi guys, just wondering if anyone else has noticed that in CS6 is u crop to 72dpi there is way to much sharpening applied to the image as compared to CS5. This is a real pain in the ass especially for a web developer.

Any ideas as I am about to switch back to CS5

As far as I do remember there is a method for crop, I think it was in settings, I am sure it was somewhere, try to look for it.

Yeah I know this is a weird issue,

yeah sizing is fine and goes to 72ppi no problem, its just on cs6 I can see with my own eyes the difference of image quality. It looks as if about 50% of unsharp mask has been applied and if I do the same crop in CS5 there is no additional sharpening. Which makes for a smoother web image So strange

I guess I don't understand your question.
If you use the crop tool on a 300ppi image it will remain 300ppi after the crop.
if it's 72 it will remain 72.

I assume from his text he means shrinking of the image, what should be in Edit->Preferences->General->Image Interpolation, but I may be wrong.

Thank you peta62, the default in cs5 is bicubic smooth and I have just set cs6 to this and seem to have worked. Image size is slightly different. But its already looking much better, thank you so much for your help guys.

I'm having the same problem.

What are the actual steps to change the preset that is causing the sharpening?

thank you
