Hello photoshop pros!

I really need some help, I'm in over my head. I have this great picture and able to edit it so far. However my lighting was of course not perfect when i took the picture. Is there any way (simplified) that I can add light to the bottom left corner and highlight the wooden blocks?? anything that makes it more apart of the picture? Or am i shit out of luck with the poor lighting i originally used?

any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Duplicate the layer.

Add a brightness adjustment layer to the new layer. Slide the brightness to about +111. Add a white-to-light-gray gradient to the layer mask of the adjustment layer.

Use your paintbrush with the color set to white, and paint the blocks.

It should look something like this.

This is a ridiculously cute picture.....

Tried some corrections to exposure and stuff to just the blocks then added a vignette. See if you like it.
