Hi,
I am a Computer Science student from The Netherlands.
My mate and I are thinking about writing our own game.
My photoshop skills are very basic at the moment, and I hope I can find the time to improve, because we will need some semi-decent art-work at some point
anyway, we were thinking (we are in the planning phase atm) about trying to find gfx, modelling, texture, sound, animation artists etc. etc. at a certain point in development (because we are basically coders)
The theme of the game will kinda be 'fantasy'... with dragons, wizards, defending/attacking cities, fight enemies e.g. bowmen, wolves, bears, and later on in the game(thanks to a cool twist in the game story) tanks, fighter jets, etc. and all that, set in a medieval environment.
we've got some pretty advanced stuff in mind, that we haven't seen in any first person RPG (or other gamegenre) before.
we are just 2 laid back students, who are having fun and trying to unleash our creativity into something productive
I don't want to be rude and start recruiting right off the bat, we don't have all the requirements laid out yet, and we haven't started on anything yet.
Pheh, I am not even sure whether or not we'll try and recruit artist at some point, or keep everything indoor.
But judging by the shear size of everything that needs to be done, I am almost certain that we'll need help on the graphics department
so here is just a question, which I hope y'all are able to answer.
Are artists on this forum, like yourself generally interested in joining a game development team?
Do a lot of people come here to recruit?
Anyway, thanks for reading.
Take it easy,
Dargazo
