Hi! I am an artist and designer in East TN. I do a little bit of everything from tee shirts to web banners, but I specialize mostly in ads, books, magazines and photograph editing/restoration. I found this site looking for a page curl and I found exactly what I needed thanks to Yutosi! I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone! :) Heather

Welcome Heather
Yutosi Rocks! enjoy the forums

Thanks so much, guys! I'm happy to be here! :)

Thank you dv8! Sorry it came out so big... I thought I had picked a smaller one. My husband actually designed that logo for me when I first got started. The original was a white ampersand, red letters and black background which was awesome, but since we were doing our own printing at the time we used this version on a white bg. I passed the compliment along and he thanks you too!

When I ordered my last business cards I added the animal print for something a little different. :) Heather

You can see it a little better on white:

Thank you again! He's like the logo master to me! This is my favorite one that he's done:

This is the one he made for the comics company that he and his friend have been doing since the 80's. The amazing thing to me is that he did both of these around 10 years ago. I still don't see logos like this very often. I can't even get close to making logos that well. The sad thing is that he doesn't do them much anymore, because he focuses more on writing, music and photography now. I'd LOVE to see what he could design now! Crazy! :) Heather

I see what you mean.... I like the reflection on the sheep badge. Too bad he doesn't really do this for a living. But he's still into the arts. In his the blood.

COMICS?.... you mean writing and drawing comics?....

I know, right! I think he still would though, if someone asked him to and it was something he was interested in or wanted to do. :)

Yes, he writes and his friend draws. They've done several together. They're doing one now for a Christian movie called Light (Light the film). It's definitely not their best work since they're kind of limited with the existing plot and dialogue. The others are much better... great story lines, characters and dialogue!

Hi Heather,
Nice art work, yesterday i hit the invert button on my mac so the whole screen was a giant negative, on some of my designs and wow i found 3 new styles, an old 1930s poster style think old art deco and then a punk style and another i cant put my finger on. My point is this, some times the silliest things such as hitting the invert button can inspire you to open up your artwork in ways you would not dream off. just a simple idea, but only takes one good result to work. good luck can we see some more of your work? jeff

Hi Heather i saw your work on flikr, nice work hope you can make some decent money from it, Feel free to check out my facebook page... jeffwelshimages , let me know what you think.

Very cool, Jeff! Thank you so much! After several years of searching for the right clients (and more importantly "good" clients), it looks like I'm actually getting close to making a modest steady income. I've been freelancing full-time for about a year and a half (since I was laid off from a local publisher) and most of that has been extremely sporadic, at best. It's picking up some now, though. It only takes a few really great clients, but they're hard to find. :) Heather
