My name is Normajean. I am love photography, my favourites being macros and landscapes!
I'm looking forward to learning how to improve my photos!:wink:
 
I am a semi pro becoming closer to doing it full time. Nice to see another photographer on the forum and hope to see you around often!
 
No problem, what do you shoot with? You using a macro lens and what focal length and do you use extender tubes? I love macro and have the honor of being schooled partly by one of the best. I know after this year i will have a ton of equipment as everything I make from photography I put back into it.
 
I have a Nikon D40X and a Nikon D3000. I have a Sigma macro lens with a focal length of 100mm. I am having trouble using it as I don't get a crisp image with it. I haven't used extender tubes. Didn't realise it was such an expensive hobby! When I first started out I used a Pentax Optio and my subject was rainforest fungi in Queensland-great results. I'm disappointed that with a better camera I'm not getting superior shots! Any tips for shooting macros would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to PSG Normajean.
Are you using that Sigma lens on both cameras and getting poor results with both bodies?

Virtually all lenses are sharpest around f8 +/-.
If you're shooting wide open your image isn't going to be as sharp.
Using a tripod would help too.

Then again the lens may need to be re-calibrated, how old is it?
