Thats certainly a good way to fight boredom! Im tempted to see more colors in it now that you got those retro lines. May be even bend the lines at the mouth so it looks like its coming out of it. May be some light to shade grad to make it more 3d ish there. Too many things to try. So im just going to shut up now. :D

lol thanks. I actually started brushing them out and then regretted it, so now the front half of my hair is normal and the back is dreaded. I'll probably dread it again soon.. I didn't realize how much I hated regular hair. I shed everywhere!

I can definitely fix that! I just made it really quickly, but I guess it would be a good idea to have it be accurate.

I originally did have the stripes in color but I always tend to lean toward gray because it's my favorite color!
Anyways, changed it back to the color version, fixed Saturn, added a gradient and drop shadow thing on the stripes as well.
Any other suggestions to spruce this up? (:
 
How about making the stripes opaque so your hands dont show through? may be just the darker stripe or else everything.. whichever looks good.

I do not want to be picky, but since you ask ;-) The Saturn inner ringe edge is strange, too round, here is a picture : saturn2_full.jpg

About hand visibility, I like it more as it is, since it is not material stream, more ideas, I like it even visually.

I tried this out to see how it looks and it looks too goofy since it cuts off my hand and it kind of leaves you wondering what the heck my hand is doing, haha.

Alright, I think I finally got it looking correctly!:

Some suggestions:

Your thumb! I think you should mask it over the top of the "stream."

And what if the objects started to appear a little further away from your mouth? Then they'd have to be a little smaller, but I actually think they're too large anyway.

And of really minor consequence: most of the objects that need to sit on the ground are situated on the colored stripes or on the edge of them. How about moving the cat into a similar position? But . . . not if it screw up the composition.

I think ibclare's idea of putting the thumb over the stream is great.. and to add to the scale of the images inside the stripes, how about having slightly smaller ones near to your face and have the scale increase as it gets farther away to the left?
 
It is better now, but i would have liked to have seen a different colour used for the image items maybe?
