Hello to all you pro gurus ;)

im not even close to being what you can call "good" at photoshop, but im trying my best.. ;) .. but ill just cut to the question i got..

well... you see.. i have found alot of pictures edited in photoshop so some guy/girl on a different picture has got a different head...
http://www.aseltine.com/rhee/ <--- (link to a page that shows you what i meen...)

Then my question is.. anyone care to explain to me how i can make the same thing?.. with a good result? maybe even as godo a result as the one where the face is integrated at "legolas" from the lord of the rings.. ;) Maybe someone have posted a tutorial i havent been able to find?..

Well.. looking forward to hearing from you.. :)

Hi Christian, welcome.

This is just a simple matter of extracting the face you want and pasting it onto the target head.

Of course, there ARE a few other steps needed to make it really fit the new head. ;)

Here's the gist:

1) Copy as much of the new face as possible. Don't worry about exactness, a layer mask will solve that overflow problem later.
2) Sometimes you may have to flip the face over for perspective matching, or even Skew it a little (using the Transform filter).
3) Add a layer mask to the new face layer and using black, paint out all areas (particularily around the outer edges) that don't belong or overlap the target head incorrectly. Use medium to small soft edged brushes for this. And zoom in very close to be as precise as you can; this is usually needed for getting between bangs, etc.
4) Use the HUE&SAT filter on the new face to match skin tone. There are other methods for this but i've found that most often only a slight adjustment to the Lightness &/or Saturation settings are needed. But this part is really dependant on how similar the new face is in tone to the target/original face. If it's too extreme, you could end up having problems that will be unfixable.

Can you tell me which face was cloned in this photo? I think i made it somewhat obvious. ;)
And if you know, take note of how the new face was altered/adjusted to fit the new head.

Ehm i tryed it.. but im still not so good at "PS"... so a little more detailed "tutorial" would be SUPER! :) sorry for being so NOVICE hehe..:) but i guess all of you didnt know it sometime?:) hehe anyways.. thanks for the warm welcome and i hope you can help me again.. :)

By the way.. this site is SO NICE! :) ... and the tutorials is SUPERB..! :)

i have to go with the blonde. i base my guess off of the fact that she has a slightly altered skin tone to the chest tone and everyone else is looking at the camera and her eyes are looking to her right our left.

That would involve using the CLONE tool mainly Christian.
It's used to clone the red parts of the mask over top of any facial features/details. Then the boy's head is attached and blended in to take on the colour of the mask. The boys hair though remains untouched.

Make sense? :B

Naa, i actually left it incomplete so you could tell.
Can't get the point across if the person doesn't know what to look at. ;) hehe
