I look at some of the brilliant work done in Photoshop and i think to myself WOW how did that person think of that where did they get there inspiration from, or does creativity just come naturally for some people

If some one give me an image to work with or a task to do in photoshop & know what they want done with it i can do it with the greatest of ease. But for some reason when i have to use my own imagination i hit a block.

I can sit with an image in front of me and in the back of my mind know all the possibilities i can do with it in photoshop. but i just sit there and think what should i do, it's almost like there are to many things i can do i just don't know which one to run with, and it even worse if i have nothing in front of me to work with.

How do you guys do it ? how do you look at an image or get presented with a task and know exactly what you want to do with it

In Photoshop I'm kind of like you.
I'm a photographer and I can't produce something from nothing in PS.

What I can do is adjust my photos to look, in print, the way they looked in my mind when I took the shot.

I'm the same. I'm in awe of folks who can just seemingly create great beauty from nothing. I'm not too bad with a base idea, I can build on it. But from nothing? Just a blank.

I smoke weed.....lol.

Seriously though I look through DeviantArt, and through Facebook pages. Also joining here has helped out as well. When I need some creative ideas I go through the sites I mentioned and start flipping through images as fast as possible. So as not to focus on any one thing for any amount of time. As not to get anything in conscious thought more so I'm the back of my head. I also check out Dali, Piccaso, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Michelangelo, and other infinite artists that have done great things that have lasted the depths of time. There's a reason they have lasted for hundreds of years. I can't say what that is exactly but it rubs off. I am lucky to have multi facets of outputs to inspire one another. Hopefully that helps a little as it works for me.

As far as creativity, I think you either have it or you don't .......If you think about it to much it's harder to find. I know that doesn't make much sense but to me it's true

Makes sense to me for sure, I don't think this is the right game for people that are not artistic in some sense or form. Not to say that a person who isn't can't excel at the programming side of it. The ingenuity part though I would think those types would have quite a problem with though!
