So here's the situation. Thanks to crappy hours and high bills I've fallen behind on rent. Found out today that if I don't get caught up by Nov. 1st I'm evicted. Basically I need to come up with about 2 months rent in just a couple of weeks. Tried to get a loan, but either denied or keep getting the run around. I'm trying to find another job, and trying to talk to a few people back home but so far not looking good. Anyone else been in this situation?

That bites the big one for sure. Only you know your Finances and your situation, not sure your going to get any advise here other than shot for some freelance, if your good enough. I would suggest staying away from credit cards to pay bills.my 2 cents

Right now I'm trying to find a roommate and get out of here, really only thing I can do. Just don't make enough at my job and I wouldn't even know how to get into freelance even if I was good enough.

cancel creative cloud if you have it a roof over your head is more important.

can they really do that give you 2 weeks notice and evict you. Over here if your a tenant they have to give you 2 months notice then if your still there they have to apply to the courts to get a hearing to have you evicted taking anywhere between 1 month to 3 months usually then the court will give you anywhere between 2 weeks and 6 months depending on your circumstances, if you are still in the property at the end it has to go back to court where they will issue a 7 day eviction notice and enforce it with court bailiffs. so if your lucky you get to stay for 6+ months from notice being served

however if you cant afford to stay there then the longer you are there is more debt piling up.

we also have a lot stricter rules on evicting families.

the only people not really protected here are males between 18 and 35 who dont have a family or medical conditions we will struggle to get emergency housing from the government.

but what our laws are in the uk probably mean jack in America.

do you have free community legal advice in your area there may be specific state laws where as long as your paying 50% or more of your rent you can stay for a set amount of time and put the price at the end of your tennancy agreement however they are only allowed to do that for a max amount of time.

we also have crisis loans and welfare loans interest free low repayment loans from the government that will be a temp measure to get youout of trouble.

but I suggest speaking to local experts who are willing to help and family and friends if being there is going to spiral into out of control debt your best of moving into family and friends until your back on your feet.

make a kickstart account and rally for donations, I am sure there are people browsing there that would rather donate spare money to someone who needs it to keep a roof over there head rather than someone needing the money for a holiday or music album recording etc.

I think the most important thing I mentioned but didn't stress it is credit cards, don't get yourself out of de bt by putting your self there somewhere else.CCs. You're between a rock and hard place.friends parents, in-aws look at those? Good luck!

School pays for my photoshop stuff so no worries there. I was able to find a cheaper place, it's a bit further from work but guess that's ok. Instead of being 1 mile from work I would be 2.5 miles from work. I don't know how long I would have to get out once served the eviction notice, but I would like to get out before then. I contacted a place and explained the situation, just a different version of it. Basically I said that my current place has become too expensive and I'm looking for a more manageable place. I have also put a listing on craigslist saying that I am looking for a place. And iDad no worries about the credit card thing, I don't have one nor can I get one.

Looks like I will be moving back home. Haven't been able to find a place where I currently live, but got two potential places in the area I grew up in. I am excited bout going home. I'll get to see my friends and family, hang with my nephews (who sadly don't know who I am). I will say things are starting to look up and give me hope. Hopefully I'll be able to transfer my current job, if not then I will have to find work quickly.
