Import Corel Draw to Photoshop

Hi all Photoshop gurus!!!
I've been asked to refine a office layout which has been made in corel draw, I've been told that with the pdf file I was given I could be able to open it in photoshop and still see and manage the single elements to move them around and arrange. Actually when I import the pdf into photoshop I see the whole layout as a unique image...

Do you think there' s a way for doing the above or the person who told me so was wrong?

Thanks!!!

You can still manipulate the image in PS. All it takes is to select and assign to a layer each individual element/furniture in the layout. In this way you can move them about.

The downside is it might affect the element's quality due to rotation. This is because PS is pixel based. Unlike Corel which is vector based.

For this reason, I prefer exporting a Corel made image directly as an AI to Photoshop. In this way, I have control of what resolution I need to use in the conversion to AI (ie... created at 150dpi in Corel , exported at 300dpi or higher to PS). In this manner, the image degradation due to PS handling isn't that obvious.
