Image Size: Auto button

The only thing I can think of is that it's used like print preview. You know, make the screen size match print size...?

The resolution of your document is usually determined by multiplying the LPI you will be print with by 1.5 or 2 (for laser printers and printing presses). You don't need to use a calculator, instead choose Image>Image Size and click on the Auto button. The Good setting will multiply the LPI by 1.5 and the Best setting will multiply it by 2. LPIx1.5 is usually used to achieve good detail, and LPIx2 is usually used to keep faces smooth.
