Hi All

Just going to post this image that I'm working on, it's still in progress so please be patient :) just like to hear comments good and bad on progress so far. Tower on the left hasn't been completed yet still a few modifications needed there, plus other bits and pieces, and some more images to incorporate.
Thanks in advance Ged

OK going to post this as the finished image I think :)

Looking nice mate...

The lights coming from the building on the left is catching my eye too much. Lower the opacity a bit.

Good point Inkz, agree with you there, I was kind of hoping that the girl would draw you to the tower, but I see what you mean, will modify, cheers. :)

I love the way you blend all the mountain stocks together to create a very impressive background....

Top notch mate.

Thanks...

I started out doing manips but then got sucked into logo designing lol. But still love to do the odd manip.

Hi Inkz, sorry for asking, do you actually get paid for the logo designing, done a few posters for the hospital that I work in but never charged them for it, quite large posters and they were well impressed with the result's, working in IT but considering changing career. Really loving graphic Design/Photoshop.
Sorry if this isn't the place to ask.

I do alot of logo designing...

Mainly from sites like Logomyway, Logosauce, 99 Designs and Designcrowd which are contest sites. Which has become a very popular way for companies who want a logo designed.

I'm not as busy as I would like to be, but enough to get by lol.

Fair point chris...

Maybe a close up version OP. At first glance I didn't see her tucked away down there lol.

Thank very much chrisdesign, I'm trying to add other images to the lake and maybe the mountains in the background, but haven't decided yet on what to add. I'm thinking of a dragon flying out the the red sky in the background but haven't been able to find the right image as of yet. Love fantasy stuff, kind of getting my inspiration from Lord of the Rings and The Sword of Shannara Trilogy that I read many many years ago in my hippie days :bustagut:

Thanks all for your comments, have finished it and moving on to the next project, hope you like the end result :)

gedstar, I like it, lots of sources to make your composition. Great work.

I agree with chrisdesign on the size of the model. She's a main subject of the image. I would say she and the lighthouse, then the fantastic setting.

My other opinion on the girl is that she is so bright compared to the immediate surroundings. I would brighten up the foreground and bring it into alignment with her lighting and make it more FG as in being closer to us and a bit brighter/sharper. IMHO!

Hi ibclare, I assume your name is Clare, that's just an educated guess :bustagut:
Thanks so much for your kind comments, I do agree about the girl been so bright, getting the lighting effects right is not one of my strong points at the moment, learning something new every day. Would appreciate some tips on how I would go about that if that's no to much trouble.
Cheers
Ged

i like your finished image very much Ged, though as Clare mentioned, try to darken the girl or brighten the foreground a little.
overall, a wonderful image!

There are several ways to brighten. The best IMO is to select the area you want brightened and apply a levels adjustment. Using the levels layer mask, you can then use a soft brush in black to modify the effect if you want to darken some areas. Start with a low opacity. Another way could be to make a layer above that portion of the BG and paint a pale color, set it to overlay or soft light or color or whatever doesn't look garish; then adjust the opacity. You can also use this method to add shadows and/or highlights to the girl or to any area you want.

Whatever you do, have fun. You're making great strides!
