Image has mysterious large background when quick export

This issue has been driving me bonkers! I have a photoshop file that is 1000px by 1000px, but every time I go to Quick Export as Png, the image turns out to be 1980px by 1499px. I believe this was the original size of the mockup which I purchased from someone, then cropped it down to 1000 by 1000. The weird thing is if I Save For Web (Legacy), there's no issue. Doing it this way is an extra step though, and it's for mockups that I have to do thousands of times over, so I'd like to get the Quick Export png working.

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Maybe you could try the option file-save as-png

Works fine in Photoshop CC 2017 what version you using?

Just out of curiosity, are you using Artboards in Photoshop. I am not sure yet this could have an impact on exports.
