Image different contrast in adobe Camra RAW

In PS CS 5 or 6 when I open an image up in adobe CR then take it from there to Photoshop CS5 or 6 in PS it looks lighter and less contrast. Opening in 16 bit Adobe RGB 1998 Thanks

Just to clarify ... are you saying:

a) The image you see in ACR looks different from the image you see after it is exported by ACR (ie, by clicking on the "Open Image" button in ACR) and immediately viewed in PS; OR,

b) The image you see in ACR looks different than, say, the in-camera JPG opened directly in PS; OR, something else ???
