Image colour cast with new graphics card

I use Photoshop (elements) to create images for banners and sliders etc on my company website, intranet and jobs website.

My computer's graphics card recently failed and so I replaced it with a new one.

I'm now adding an image to a banner slider on one of my websites, as always using photoshop to create and save the JPEG. However, the colour cast on the image is different to the rest in the set.

What's happening, and more importantly how do I fix it without re-saving all the images in the set and avoid this problem bleeding across my other sites when I want to change or add to image content.

Thanks for any help.

are you using web safe colors. And secondly have you saved the image via save for web rather than just save as

Your description was terse, and it could be any of several things, but here's my first guess:

The various monitor profiles on your system are loaded into a LUT that, for speed of processing, is often stored on the graphics card. If, by some chance, the OS failed to load the correct monitor profile onto your new card, then you would likely see changes in the colors.

If you have a hardware monitor calibrator, run it with the new card installed. Make sure the calibrator software recognizes that your new video card. If it doesn't, you may have to change the options, or even re-install the calibrator software.

If you don't use a hardware calibrator, the installation instructions that came with your new graphic card should tell you how to set it up properly. For example, it might have come with a disk that contains some simple default profiles and an installer.

Let us know how it goes.

PS - I'll be on travel for the next several days, with limited internet access, but I'll try to check in here periodically.

Hi all, thanks for posting. It sounds like I haven't given enough info. I'm away for a couple of days so will post back on return.

everyone, thanks again for posting. I've found the problem. I use Picasaweb to host the website images. It recently moved into Google+ and at that point came with some new settings which autoenhance images when they are uploaded. I've disabled these, reuploaded the images and they are fine.

Thanks again for helping with this.

Thanks for closing the loop on this question. I also use Picasaweb, but haven't yet "upgraded" to G+, so it's good to be aware of potential sources of problems such as this.
