Image background colour change help

Hi all, first post, very inexperienced with Photoshop - looking to learn.

I have an image of a white / grey golf ball (attached) that is currently is used on a website with a white background, but is being re-deployed to a website using a black background. Would someone be able to help me change the background colour from white to black, and also change the opacity of the image so it sits a lot softer on the black background?

use layer mask and apply level --> move dark slider to right --> now ur ball looks dark. Now you can use pentool or magnetic lasoo tool to create path around the ball. --> Copy the ball image by using Ctrl +J--> delete the level layer --> choose any Back Ground color of ur
choice.
