Hi, anyone with a M1 iMac updated to venture.? any problems with Photoshop or any of the Topaz Filters ?

I generally always leave System updates for a long time, after some very bad occurrences long ago, when a recommended system update ended in a Kernel Panic that to days to restore.

and after I did, I found several of my Photoshop paid filters no longer worked, and a few were very erratic..

as I live in photoshop all day, too arthritic to go out... I am so wary of this, as at present I have a STABLE photoshop, and filters that all work great, and would prefer it to stay that way for ever.. (When you are on a god thing stick with it.)

so if anyone out there has had the slightest problem, please let me know.

I don't know how to turn off this dam annoying update reminders, and once hit the wrong thing and it went ahead, and I regretec that like forever.

Regards, Sandy

I have MacBook Pro (OSX 12.5.1) (16" - 2021) with the M1 processor. Photoshop seems to be ok with an occasional freeze, but the latest Gigapixel will crash PS every time I try it. I haven't had time to research it yet, but a real pain after paying for GP and then this happens.
I'm not going to update the operating system for awhile.
Cheers, John

wow thanks for the input.. that is scary to me, as I am using Gigapixel and the other topaz filters dozens of times a day... literally live in them.

thanks again. seriously made me re think.

I work on a Windows machine so not sure how this lines up with your issue - but you can launch Gigapixel as a stand-alone without going thru Photoshop. Make your changes, save the image, then open the Gigapixel image in Photoshop .
I had a brief freezing problem as well but the next update fixed the issue. I haven't updated since even though I keep getting the reminder. My philosophy is somewhat like Sandy's above - if something works, don't try to "fix" it. Or at least wait a cycle until all problems have been exposed and worked out.

So do I Jeff, but DeNoise and Sharpen still work fine. I will try GP as a stand alone app, but it's so nice to be able to use it with PS! Oh well, I've learned to live with little disappointments in my old age!
