I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I need some help with a GIF technique

I'm familiar with the basics of Photoshop and just learned how to make GIFs and a few days ago I came across this one (Ignore who is in the image. It was the only one I could find that was a good example of what I want to do):
question.gif

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way I could produce the same effect (animation on top of still image). Demi (the girl) had a wall behind her in the original GIF and it looks like someone just took her out and put her on the picture. Anyone know how? That would be awesome, thanks! :cool2:

someone painstakingly removed the back ground from many layers and added it to one image

so they went through each frame, removed the background and then just put the GIF on top of a JPG?

pretty much but the .jpg needs to be same format ".gif"

Sweet. I think I understand now. Thank you so much! :)

Hello alho208,

As previously mentioned, you have to edit it frame by frame in order to do it in Photoshop.

More than likely, however, the person that made your example GIF used a video editing tool like Adobe After Effects, and just the final video as a GIF.

Though I would share just in case you ended up doing a bunch of them.
