ok, i've done this before i just can't remember how or what it's called, but it's an text effect that looks like a text is stamped into metal, not sticking out but stamped in.

anyone remember?

Looking at that illustration I am now curious as to how you achieved that stained, oxidized look. :}

The "Embossed?" was a text layer which I hit with one of my basic layer styles which has been modified from who knows what origin. I started out learning layer styles by modifying other peoples to learn how they are built and still collect them like fonts, though I generally make my own now. Here's my 'generic' Emboss layer style which I modified slightly for this particular image.

The dripping oxide patina was made in Flaming Pear's Super Blade Pro and is a modification I made recently to a stock preset. The screw heads are just a bump map made in PS.
