Here's a select group of ?actions for various functions.
There are no restrictions on these Actions. I'm giving them away here, so you can do what you want with them. My advice though is to customize them a little so they have your style, not mine. ;)

1) Creating Custom Shapes: Vector Shapes that is. This action will convert any font set into a group of custom vector shapes, and save the group to your library. This is a good time saving action for those wishing to convert a dingbat type fontset into vector shapes.

This set contains actions for both PS7 & PS CS. But after some testing i've found that the PS7 action will work in PS CS with no problems.

NOTE: my apologies to the Mac users. Although you should be able to run these actions, you may get an error/dialogue window in the 1st one, asking you to choose a font to use; because the one used in the action is not on your system. I never intended to be passing out this action and as such i chose Arial as my default font. Verdana would've worked out better now i see, but it's a lot of work to change that part of the action now.

VERSION: 6(?)/7/CS -- (for v6 try using the PS7 action)

2) Credit Card Design Template: This action was originally created to help out someone with a problem, so the design is actually his (Darklin, over @ psT). But you can easily change a few steps to customize the look -- which is based pretty much on what photo is used for the bg.

VERSION: 6(?)/7/CS

3) Photo FX: This action creates 2 types of photo effects -- "aged film" and "antique photo". Both are customizeable by changing either layer opacity or blend modes used on the effected layers.

VERSION: 6(?)/7/CS

4) Thumbnail Maker: As it says... this action will speed up the making of thumbnails, at any of 4 specific sizes -- 60x60, 80x80, 100x100, 120x120px.

VERSION: 5+(?)/6/7/CS

And here's a quick-tip on using Actions: If there's any step in an action you wish to customize, simply open the action so you can see each step. Then look to the left of the step you wish to customize. If you see a small indented square there, put a check in it and PS will pause at that step, opening the dialogue window for you so you can manually set the parameters. When you click OK in the dialogue, the action should continue on as usual. ?:righton:

How very kind of you to share these, Mark!
I've downloaded them, and will take the few steps to "personalize" them as you requested.

A very big THANK YOU for your generousity! I hope I can come up with something someday to repay this board for the fabulous kick-off!

Good of you to post those, Mark, thanks.

I'll rummage around in the ones I've created over the years, and see if there are any worthy of posting. \:]

Mark, You saved me man. I have been looking for something to give me the credit card shape. My church wants me to design some fundraising cards. Thank you soooo much!!

I know this is an old post but I wondered how to make those brushes work in a safe way, that does not make Photoshop go BAAAAAANG PANG shabalalagang 3[

When I download the zip file, what do I do next? :}

Thank you Mark for the actions -- I just downloaded them. Need to find some time to modify them as per your request! :righton:

Just brushes that come in a zip file...how do I put them into Photoshop so I can use them, and how do I put actions(like in this post) in use on Photoshop? :righton: Thanks for replying man,

Thanks Mark, you are a prince ;) as usual

rocT just unzip the files where ever you like (like your Desktop), then copy/cut the files into their respective Photoshop folder within the Presets folder. i.e. within your Adobe/Photoshop/Presets/ (specific file folders here).

Photoshop has to be closed though to load any new files into it for use.

Thanks Teh 1337 Keeper, you make the maker's of Adobe Photoshop proud and you are an inspiration to every Adobe Photoshop user!

I've made and used some actions myself, and enjoyed the process. These are gorgeous :righton: thanks theKeeper. I've not yet made an action as intricate as yours, but this has inspired me to try.
Nearly forgot, the photo has been aged using both the actions and then tweaked to suit.

Hey cool. Glad you like Tao. :D

Why not jack up the highs (levels) on this photo to bring out some clarity/definition? I think it would help it a bit. :righton:

I went to try and download the attachment in the very first post of this thread -- but i keep getting a 404 attachment not found error -- can anybody fix the problem -- i would really like to get ahold of this action :D
