I'm an idiot. How did I alter this text?

Hi. I'm new to this community. I found it searching photoshop forums on Google. I hope you can help!

I have a font 'Bauer' that has a slant/italics to it. I need to remove the italics, and then arc the text.

I'm pretty sure I used Transform/Skew to remove the italics. But I can't figure out how I added the arc. I obviously didn't use 'Type/WarpText', because there is no distortion. And I can't figure out how I would have skewed the text, and then used a path to arc it.

I created the original at 72dpi, and need to recreate for print. I've been working for hours trying everything I can thing to duplicate the text in the attachment. Please help.

Most likely you used the word art that comes with Photoshop. When you are in the type tool, you will will see a menu item which is a slightly distorted T with an arch under it. Click there and click the dropdown and choose arch. There are sliders so you can change the degree of arching. I think this is what you want.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
I wish that was the case. Unfortunately, the warp text tool is known for causing distortion. Please see attachment

If you use Arch rather than Arc when you're warping the text it should work the way you want it to. You can also adjust the Vertical Distortion if necessary.

If you would reread Claire's post she said nothing about the "warp text tool" ... just saying

 Where is the confusion:question:

From what I can reproduce..... you may have rasterised the text after straightening. Then used transform/warp tool - dragging the vertical grid lines upward one by one .

In using the Create Warped text, you can compensate for the distortions. But using the tool won't get you your image's text effect.

She said arch But whatever you guys say.

She'll chime in and if I'm wrong I'll eat my words
