illustrator white thin line problem

I've stroked around the outside of a person with a black stoke. On a new layer below the stoke layer ive filled the person in but it leaves like a thin white jagged line in between the fill and the stroke and it doesnt look smooth. Whats going on here?

did you mask the person? maybe you need to tighten the mask.

Can you confirm whether it is a white line, or a gap,
Could you upload the file for us to see for sure what the problem is.
