Hey guy's, I am new to all this so I appriciate anyone who can help and understand my problem.

I have my own little start up business where I have thing printed overseas. The problem is that they will only accept files in Corel draw which I do not use to design with but once I have made my designs in illustrator I just open and convert them to crd in Corel. So far everything has been ok but one particular customer sends me extremely detailed vectors (see attached examples) like artist drawing and when I open certain ones in Corel it's as if one of the main layers disappears? So certain lines just don't show up but I'm pretty sure they are there in some way. It's almost like they are in reverse? So hard to explain. I have tried everything to get them to show but I am completely self taught on adobe so maybe there's things I don't do in the right way. If somebody thinks they know what may be happening them please advise me in simple terms if possible. I have tried converting to paths, merging, etc. if I release the clipping mask then I just get a black shape which is the entire shape of the artwork. It must be something to do with how it's drawn but I can't figure it out.
Hope someone can help
Regards

What are those lines in the Corel Jiu Jitsu Ribbon?

Hard to say... Is there an effect applied to the lines or shapes in the Illustrator file?

Is it possible for you to post a Screengrab of the Corel and Illustrator Layers?

I will check it out tonight and send the relevant screen shots. Like I say I am completely self taught in illustrator so not sure about certain things. even when i separate the black layer and try merging it, outline etc it still disappears.

The black line layers which disappear are paths with some being compound paths...? Just really frustrating!

Have you looked at the imported files in Object Manager and inspected your outlines? Many times I have to put outlines on files imported from AI. AI doesn't necessarily play well with Corel Draw.

That could be one of several reasons. That's why a view of the AI layers and a corresponding view of the Corel layers with the layer's object contents might give some idea what's wrong.

Hey guys thanks for replying.

Here are some screen shot of the layers. I am not sure what I am looking for but I cant see any effects on the lines. I think the designer uses a special pen to draw them but I just don't get why some work in corel and some don't? Even the artist dosent know?

If you look at the pictures its as if the black goes opposite????

Some of the artwork works and opens fine but 90% is like the corel image?

I don't think we can diagnose this without seeing the Corel Object manager display. Just a shot in the dark here, how do you have color management set up? I know that Illustrator wants to create for print in CMYK color space, if your set up in RGB, that may be causing at least part of your problem. (I can't tell much about these screen grabs)

Edit: Nope, I d/l the files and got the higher res AI file and it looks like both documents are RGB. Do the same thing with the Corel file as you did with the AI and post that.

Ok Thanks I will try to do the same for Corel. I have little experience with corel. Im pretty sure its nothing to do with the color management (RBG) as like I said some of it work and some doesn't but I will try anything right now. Its very strange because its almost as if the vector is there but in reverse...? I'm sure it is something to do with the way its drawn and perhaps clipped? I have even tried rasterising it and then tracing it again and it still didn't work????

My only other option would be to open them in Photoshop and save each panel as a JPEG and print it that way but as its going for sublimation you have less control over the colours. With the vectors they can just tweak each colour if they need to.

Really appreciate everyone who is trying to help, thanks for your time
