Hi all,

Is there any plugin to make the pen tool from illustrator behave/work like the pen tool from Photoshop. Both pen tool behave differently , and i am not used to the way of the pen tool behave in illustrator.

Thanks in advance

Perhaps I'm used to them, so I don't notice the differences, but what exactly don't you like about the Illustrator's pen tool?

Maybe i started to use Photoshop first , Usually in Photoshop

1) By using CTR,ALT only , i can alter the path/segment on the fly instead clicking the anchor first.
2) Very often when i want to move the anchor , as i am holding the CTR , It will go to path selection tool first, then i have to change to direct selection tool to move the anchor in illustrator.

I think the biggest problem is , i have to click on the specific anchor to alter the path with the right selection tool.

Hopefully i explained clear enough .

Actually there is a slight difference. In the example below: Photoshop is on the left. Click and drag at point A up, click and drag at point B down, now just click Point A to finish and you have a circle.
The same procedure in Illustrator yields the result on the right. With Illustrator you need to drag up when you complete it to make a circle.

When using the pen tool in Illustrator, the ctrl key works on a last tool selected basis. If you selected the direct selection tool (A) last, then when you hold ctrl it will become active. If you last used the selection tool (V) then ctrl will make it active.

The alt key works the same.

I know about the last selection tool basic , therefore i feel that the additional steps to click on the right anchor to movelalter the specific segment or anchor point is hindering the drawing process

I agree with you. I like the way it works in Photoshop too, but I don't know of any way to make it work the same way in Illustrator.
