Anyone know why I cant export an illustrator document to a psd file at 300 dpi all other options work fine but recently I am getting an error message saying not enough memory and I am fairly sure when I am running 4 X 4 Gigs of G Skillz ram all working fine I have bench tested it my ram is not the problem.

I suspect it's just an error- I have to re-install my Adobe Master Suite every year because it just gets so clogged and error'd up from a bunch of crap add-ons i put into the folder, haha my 64-Bit Photoshop just decided to take an arrow in the knee one day and gave me a bunch of DLL errors so I altered some files in the directory and somehow it morphed into 32-Bit... Whatever it works now :D

Otherwise it may be that your not running 64-Bit and its requesting more memory than it is allocated... Which usually produces a program crash, but it varies sometimes.

Can you save the dpi higher than 300? or is 300 the limit before an error occurs?

It is only doing it on 300 + dpi and only in exporting to a psd any other format is fine. I need to do a clean install of my whole computer anyway so maybe that will all get fixed me and adobe products do not get when uninstalling and reinstalling still have not worked it out I am not deactivating it all properly first so when I come to reactivate it I get serial errors.

Just out of curiosity can you change the performance settings in Illustrator cant seem to find it in preferences

Thats another question how do you deactivate the whole master suite or do you really have to go into every element and deactivate it all individually.

Thank you for responding.

not really as it is the actual exporting that is causing the issue.

Not to worry guys maybe it is just a case of reinstalling it my error seems to be to specific to just exporting to psd for it to be a major issue it does 72 and 150 dpi fine its unlikely I will need 300 dpi for any of my illustrator work anyway.

Thanks guys.

I think it could actually be an issue with my graphics card I am only running a 1 gig card at the moment I wouldnt have thought that would effect illustrator so much especially on exporting. But it is causing me a lot of crashes on some heavy Gl applications, Making my cpu actually having to do some work lol.

Yeah I am currently running a GT 220 1 gig piece of $#!+ until my GTX 590 gets returned a nice 3GB card but had to send it back twice now lol so they are admitting it is a fault and sending me a new 1. may downgrade to 580 as it does seem a bit more stable.

Happens to me sometimes Hoog. I think it's something to do with scratch disk errors.

I simply close everything, REFRESH and restart the apps. I've noticed it always happens when I have Illustrator or Corel Draw and Photoshop open.
