Ideas for my new blog's header?

Hi people! I'm new in this forum.

I dont know a thing about design and I want desperately your help!

I want you to give me some ideas for the header of my blog. It's so empty right now! :( :idea::idea::idea:

I am not asking you to draw me something (I definately wouldn't ask for something like this) but I want some ideas for the colours, the subject etc. I am out of ideas.

The top header is 940x410 pixels. Look at the uploaded photos and check my (soon-to-be) blog. :) dailyfix.gr

PS : The header is highlighted with blue.

I want it more "futuristic"... minimal.. some texture maybe.. I dont know.. Im gonna lost my mind..!! Im out of ideas!

I like iDad's idea of adding a symbol or shape. Maybe create a shape that you like and do a clipping mask with the texture. Or you can find one on the web and make a selection. With a texture laid over it, you don't even have to be quite as picky about the edges.
 
I think the header is a lot of space to fill! If you are happy with your logo, maybe you should think of taking the space up with advertising, otherwise making an exstended version of your logo to be used for the header. Also the design of the site is fine, try not to over complicate things with designs that are too busy!
