Im quite new to Photoshop, and have been playing around, getting used to it.
I now have a problem though, every colour i select on the palette or with the eyedropper turns into a shade of grey.. depending on the light or darkness of the colour ive selected.
Have i done something?
and if so, how do i undo it?
Thank you in advance for any help, it is gratefully received.

I still use PS 7 so I don' t know if this will help you. Go to the top menu and select Image and then Mode. It sounds like Grayscale is selected. Change it to RGB color.

Welcome MizFaerie ;)

Could also be that one of your masks is active (double border around thumbnail of layer mask thumbnail in layers palette and mask iconin front of active layer).
Click on the layer thumbnail and try again.
