What are the best tablets to get that can handle the course and software? I am a skilled artist and would like the act of using a pencil like device to convert my sketches to a digital form. I find a mouse or the pad on my laptop useless in MS paint and other editing software that I have used.

Hi... for starters, the WACOM Bamboo tablet will do just well. If price won't be object, look into the CINTIQ or INTUOS models as well.

And off course the application which is why this forum exists... PHOTOSHOP.

Ditto, I learned PS with a good trakball mouse and did well. I got the Bamboo Large, from Wacom and once I set it up PS went to new levels.Using the stylus alone makes it worthwhile, the adj pen pressure though keeps me very happy, and my masks show it!

I agree 100%!!

I'm currently using a Wacom Bamboo and I cant tell you how much I like it, but if I had a chance to do it over again I would have saved for the Wacom Intuos Pro Medium!
