I think I broke my brush!!

I'm not sure what I did but I'm guessing it was some kind of keyboard shortcut while working.. I'm using photoshop cs
The problem: My default brush's soft edge won't active and the brush has a plus sign inside the circle. I already tried reseting the brushes, reseting photoshop, and reseting the computer.. nothing will bring it back

On your tool palette switch from the "pencil" tool to the "brush" tool. (click and hold the icon or right click to get to the hidden tools).
